November 11, 2021 // Uncategorized

Saint Agnes is joining with West Fresno Ministerial Alliance in feeding 3,000 Fresno families. Each will receive a turkey and – with our help – all the trimmings for a Thanksgiving meal. You can help by donating food items like canned corn or creamed corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, small bags of dried beans, rice, and boxes of stuffing and cornbread mix. Drop-off food bins are available in One Main Café, Cyber Café, The Plaza (lobby) and at several of our Saint Agnes Care clinics. The last day to donate is Sunday, November 14. Whether you can give a little or a lot, even just one item will be greatly appreciated!

All Souls Day all month long

November 3, 2021 // Around the Medical Center, Spirituality in the Workplace

All Souls Day, November 2, is a day to commemorate and pray for the faithful departed. Given the magnitude of loss we’ve endured since the pandemic began, one day doesn’t seem enough, so our chaplains will be praying for those left behind throughout the month. If you’ve lost a loved one and wish to be lifted up in prayer for peace and hope to carry on, please write the name of the individual(s) for whom you mourn in the Intercessory Book of Prayers located in Christ the Healer Chapel, or email them to josie.longoria@samc.com.

CDC recommends Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5-11

November 3, 2021 // Coronavirus

On November 2, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended use of the Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNTech) COVID-19 vaccine for persons 5-11 years of age. The announcement followed the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP)’s vote to recommend it. Last week, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) updated emergency use authorization of the vaccine to include the expanded age group. Trinity Health is confident in the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines with FDA approval. We strongly encourage everyone ages 5 and up to be vaccinated. Our colleagues, families, friends, neighbors and acquaintances look to us for guidance and are influenced by our words and examples we set. Please encourage everyone to get educated about the vaccine’s safety and efficacy.
