If you missed our annual colleague Flu Festival, you’re in luck! Employee Health has scheduled one final shot clinic for any employee, volunteer or physician who still needs a flu vaccine. The clinic will be held 7 a.m.-Noon, Thursday, Nov. 18, in the 2-North Rotunda. Remember, all colleagues are required to have the flu shot by Nov. 30 or have an approved exemption.

If you are and would be willing to share your creativity with your coworkers, consider signing up to host a virtual workshop. In celebration of Veterans Day, we were proud to participate in the 102nd Central Valley Veteran’s Day Parade to honor the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces and their families who have answered our country’s call to serve with dedication, courage and sacrifice. Special thanks to our parade participants who proudly represented Saint Agnes: CMO Dr. Gene Egerton, Dale Vadeboncoeur, Lawrence Cervantes and Brent Yuenger. And a huge shoutout to Saint Agnes Board Director Tom Ferdinandi, who drove them in his Me N Ed’s vintage fire truck.

Remembering those we loved and lost to COVID-19

On the one-year anniversary of our first COVID patient, we held a memorial event, Hope and Healing, to honor the colleagues, loved ones and patients we had lost during the pandemic. A piece of artwork from our Saint John’s Bible, called Jacob’s Ladder, was unveiled during the event and is now permanently installed at the entrance of the Christ the Healer Chapel. Alongside the framed art is a plaque that reads: To those we loved and lost during the COVID pandemic. 

We hope as you view the artwork, you are reminded of the importance of the sacred work you do each and every day. You are a blessing!
