Saint Agnes is Going Red

With Heart Month only a few days away, we’re getting red-dy to Go Red … literally! We’ll kick things off by lighting the Medical Center’s exterior red, Thursday, February 4. Then on Friday, February 5, we’ll join American Heart Association in wearing red (and denim) to bring awareness to the dangers of heart disease and stroke. Returning on this special spirit dress down day to help us Go Red is Fresno Street Eats, and this time, they’ll be providing a meal for our nightshift colleagues. More details coming very soon!

Shine a light on Heart Month

Though our country faces the staggering loss of more than 400,000 Americans due to COVID-19 in the last year, it’s important to remember that heart disease is still the number one killer of both men and women. With February 1 kicking off Heart Month, we wanted to share some exciting events coming the first week of February as part of our Go Red celebration. Go Red on Friday, February 5, by wearing red and denim on a special Spirit Dress Down Day! Plus, look out for more details about a lighting ceremony planned for Thursday, February 4.

Join us for the next Blood Drive, Feb. 2

Since the need for blood donations never ends, Saint Agnes is partnering with the Central California Blood Center to host our final quarterly blood drive on Tuesday, February 2, from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. The bloodmobile will be parked on the Circle Drive near the Shehadey Pavilion entrance, but you must check in near Cyber Café first. Plus, anyone who brings a Blood Donor Card with three or more stamps will be entered to win pizza for their department and a pair of Apple Airpods!

This Friday, January 8, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Fresno Street Eats will be making another stop at the top of the Circle Drive and The Plaza. All trucks accept cash and card, so be sure to bring some spare change next Friday to enjoy a delicious lunch! We are also excited to announce the continuation of Spirit Dress Down Weekends through the month of January. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in January, wear your favorite Saint Agnes T-shirt and denim.

Building a more resilient you

Saint Agnes and Every Neighborhood Partnership (ENP), with funding from ACEs Aware, are working together to raise awareness about the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences in the hopes of building a heathier community and a brighter future for our children. To kick off this effort, Saint Agnes is hosting a special Facebook Live event, Thursday, December 3, at 1 p.m., with clinical psychologist, Kristin Beasley, PhD, (aka Dr. B). During the event, Dr. B will discuss the special new podcast series she created in partnership with Saint Agnes and ENP that gives people the tools they need to overcome the effects of trauma and build a more resilient self.
