Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day

The loss of a child during pregnancy or in infancy is an experience that leaves lifelong scars. Please join our Women and Infants Services team this Friday, October 15, as they recognize and honor the patients and families who have suffered such heartbreaking losses. Friday at 10 a.m., Spiritual Care will lead an overhead prayer and moment of silence. Colleagues are also welcome to visit the Fountain at the top of circle drive at any point on Friday for a moment of individual reflection and to place a flower in the water to honor a pregnancy or infant loss.

Donate blood to help Valley patients

To address our community’s continued blood supply shortage, Saint Agnes is partnering with Central California Blood Center (CCBC) to host a Blood Drive Tuesday, October 5, 7 a.m.-1 p.m. The Bloodmobile will be parked at the Circle Drive near Shehadey Pavilion. Donations are by appointment only. According to medical experts, there are no adverse effects to donating blood and getting a flu shot in the same day, if you are planning to get your flu shot on Tuesday, October 5, you can still donate blood – and the order doesn’t matter!

Flu Shot Festival starts next week

Mark your calendar for the annual Flu Shot Festival held October 5-14. By doing your part to support our safety promise, you’ll receive an ice cream voucher to be redeemed for one ice cream bar in One Main Café. As in past years, colleagues who are unable to be vaccinated due to a religious belief or medical contraindication may apply for an exemption. Exemptions will be available soon and must be submitted to HR4U by October 22.

Honoring the victims and survivors of 9/11

As we look back on the tragic events of September 11, 2001, after 20 years, we remember the victims who lost their lives to the terrorist attacks and recognize the sacrifices made by the first responders. To recognize the importance of this day, the Spiritual Care team is offering a special prayer each day this week, leading up to September 11. On Saturday, September 11, Spiritual Care will lead us in two moments of silence at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. We will also be passing out red, white and blue ribbons for colleagues to wear this weekend.
