Final call for flu shots

This Friday, November 6 is the final deadline to get your annual flu shot and free ice cream. Our goal is 100% compliance, but we are currently only at 71%, so we’re adding one final flu shot clinic. If you haven’t already received your vaccination, roll up your sleeve and head over to the 2-North hallway (across from Cyber Café) to get your shot this Thursday, November 5, from 7-11 a.m.

Help protect Saint Agnes from cyberattack

Last week, the FBI released warnings about an “imminent, credible (cyber) threat” to health care organizations across the United States. A cybercriminal group is targeting health care providers with the Ryuk ransomware, which is designed to steal data and disrupt health care services. As you know, Trinity Health takes patient safety and the protection of our patients’ data seriously. Ministry leadership and the Enterprise Information Security (EIS) team are actively taking precautions to prepare for and thwart these threats. In parallel, increased colleague awareness and attention is also necessary during this time.

Cardiac Rehab reopening

With more businesses opening, we’re excited to announce that Saint Agnes Cardiac Rehab is once again open for patients to continue their rehab after being discharged from the hospital! While the number of patients will be limited to ensure proper physical distancing, our entire Cardiac Rehab staff is thrilled to be able to invite patients back to the gym. If you see any Cardiac Rehab colleagues around the hospital, be sure to give them a warm welcome back!

Voting Center opening at The Plaza

With early voting and absentee voting, it’s never been more convenient to cast your ballot. Not to mention that Saint Agnes Administrative Center at The Plaza (1111 E. Spruce Ave.) is one of this year’s in-person voting sites. The Plaza voting center, located on the east side of the building, will be open Saturday, October 31, through Tuesday, November 3, for voters to drop off absentee ballots, vote in person, get language assistance or even register to vote. For colleagues who plan to vote in person on or before November 3, we will be as accommodating and flexible as operationally possible.

Our fall issue featured the road to recovery for a COVID-19 patient and her family, ways to exercise safely during a pandemic, and treatments for fighting back against chronic constipation. As Trinity Health responds to the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to our Mission and Core Values, specifically our “commitment to those who are poor: we stand with and serve those who are poor, especially those most vulnerable.” That’s why Trinity Health is working with the Aunt Bertha organization to provide the Trinity Health Resource Directory, an online directory to find local resources to meet the needs of our patients, colleagues and those living in the communities we serve. This valuable tool can now be found in the ZENworks window.
