In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we want to take this opportunity to thank you, our colleagues, for your ceaseless commitment to our patients. Because of you, we are able to provide high-quality, compassionate care to thousands of patients every year. As a way to thank those of you working during the Thanksgiving holiday, a complimentary meal will be available in One Main Café Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 11 p.m.-1 a.m., and Thursday, Nov. 24, from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 4-8 p.m.

Cardiac teams recognized for exceptional collaborative care

Earlier this week, physicians from several cardiac service areas were recognized by the Saint Agnes Board of Directors for their collaborative care efforts and life-saving work in the CVICU. CVICU patients are among the sickest in the hospital due to a combination of anatomical and physiological issues across multiple organ systems. Providing care for these patients requires a team effort from cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, CVICU staff and Intensivists. By working together, these physicians and specialists are able to meet the multifaceted needs of CVICU patients in an efficient and effective manner.

Honoring our veterans

In recognition of Veterans Day, we extend deep gratitude to our veterans of all branches for their brave and selfless service to our country – especially our veteran colleagues, physicians and patients. This Friday, Nov. 11, we will be celebrating our veteran colleagues, patients and loved ones. Please join us in honoring our veterans during overhead prayers and by wearing red, white and/or blue. Veteran colleagues can show their military badge reel to receive a free soda in One Main Café or The Plaza Deli.

We loved seeing everyone dressed their best during the Boo Fest on Monday, Oct. 31! You helped make the day both frightful and delightful. We hope you enjoyed the festivities – especially the free kettle corn! Don’t forget: Voting for our 2022 Halloween Costume Contest is open on the Colleague Connect App! Extended One Main Cafe and Cyber Cafe hours

At the beginning of the pandemic, we reduced the hours of the One Main Café & Grill and Cyber Café due to limited resources and fewer visitors and colleagues in need of dining services. After many months of limited service, we are excited to announce that effective immediately, the Grill will be open on weekends 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Cyber Café has extended its hours to 6 a.m.-3 p.m., weekdays. Our Café and Dining team looks forward to serving you during our new hours!

Repaving of Herndon/Warner frontage road begins Oct. 31

The City of Fresno is repaving the Herndon frontage road between Millbrook Ave. and First St., starting Monday, October 31-Thursday, Nov. 3. The project takes place over four days, with one section of road being worked on each day. We are working closely with the City to minimize any potential disruption to you and our patients and visitors. To that end, there will be plenty of signage and personnel to help direct traffic. However, please plan ahead and expect there may be delays. Repaving will begin each day at approximately 7:30 a.m. and will be completed at 4:30 p.m. Please download a copy of the map so you can be prepared each day.

Flu clinic tomorrow

If you did not get the chance to attend one of our previous flu shot clinics, we have added an additional clinic to the calendar. Come get your flu shot on Thursday, October 20, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., in 2-North Rotunda. After you get your shot, we’ll reward you with a coupon for a sweet treat and your 2022-2023 flu badge. Flu shots are also now available in Employee Health, M-F, from 7:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.

During the month of October, people around the country celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month as a way to honor breast cancer survivors and remember those loved ones taken too soon by the disease. In honor of this important celebration, we have ordered a limited supply of pink “Committed to the Cure” shirts for colleagues to purchase. Shirts come in sizes M-3XL* and can be purchased for $10. Shirts will ONLY be available for pre-order, while supplies last. Shirts are on their way and will be ready for pick up early next week, so watch your email for details about when and where.
