Last call for flu shots

If you missed our annual colleague Flu Festival, you’re in luck! Employee Health has scheduled one final shot clinic for any employee, volunteer or physician who still needs a flu vaccine. The clinic will be held 7 a.m.-Noon, Thursday, Nov. 18, in the 2-North Rotunda. Remember, all colleagues are required to have the flu shot by Nov. 30 or have an approved exemption.

Send a note of thanks: Research shows that gratitude can improve our physical, mental and emotional health, so take a moment to express your appreciation with an “I’m Thankful” card. Guaranteed, their day won’t be the only one brightened by your gesture! Cards will be available in your department beginning Friday, November 5.

Feeding Fresno families: Saint Agnes is joining West Fresno Ministerial Alliance in providing Thanksgiving meals for 3,000 families. You can help by donating food trimmings (i.e., rice, canned corn and green beans, etc.), now until November 13. Drop-off bins are located in One Main Café, Cyber Café and The Plaza.

Given the magnitude of loss we’ve endured since the pandemic began, one day doesn’t seem enough, so our chaplains will be praying for those left behind throughout the month. SAMC Security is on the move

Our Security department is relocating to the 1313 E. Herndon, Suite 101 (just east of Patient Registration). The new office is open weekdays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Security coverage, of course, continues to be 24/7. You can always find our officers inside the hospital or patrolling the campus and none of that will change; nor will any of the phone numbers or mail stop. If you need to reach Security, call ext. 5-3229, just as you always have.

In observance of World No Tobacco Day, our Community Health and Well-Being department is hosting “A Pack for a Pack” event in One Main Café, Friday, June 4. Stop by between 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. to learn about the tobacco prevention efforts at Saint Agnes, and to make a pledge against tobacco. If you’re a smoker and you’re ready to take the first step to quitting, bring us a pack of your cigarettes and we’ll reward you with a pack of goodies!
