Honor your loved ones this Memorial Day

In honor of the brave men and women who served in the military to protect our nation, we will be flying U.S. flags on the front lawn beginning Friday, May 27 through Memorial Day, Monday, May 30. If you would like a flag flown in memory of a loved one who served and has passed (does not have to be in the line of duty), please email information@samc.com. You can also honor your loved one by floating a flower in their memory in the Fountain at the top of Circle Drive and by writing their name in the prayer book located in the Chapel.

Come support Saint Agnes Hospice this weekend

You’re invited to attend a fundraiser for Saint Agnes Hospice, Saturday, May 28, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at Dry Creek Park (855 N. Clovis Ave.). The fundraiser has been organized by the daughter of a patient who benefited from the Hospice program. The daughter wants to be able to give back to the Hospice team for their incredible compassion and care. More than 50 vendors will be on site. Guests can also enjoy a silent auction, a raffle for a Traeger Grill and kids can meet Velvet, the new Hospice support pony! There is no admission fee, so come and enjoy a fun day for a good cause.

New intranet site coming this summer

We’ve been keeping a little secret for a few months, and now, we’re ready to share it with you. This summer, the Saint Agnes intranet site known as InTouch will be moving to Microsoft SharePoint as its new platform! All of the InTouch files and pages you reference on a daily basis are currently being migrated over to SharePoint. The new platform will function similarly, but with a bit of a facelift. Stay tuned for more details coming soon. We can’t wait to show you the new site!

Our nurses bring color to the world

As part of our Nurses Week celebration earlier this month, we distributed coloring posters to each of the nursing departments as a way to highlight the diversity and color they bring to our hospital and as a way for them to find a few minutes of relaxation during their busy day. We love seeing Cardiac Radiology Tech Jason Wood pose with all of the bright colors on the Cath Lab poster. If your department has enjoyed coloring your poster, we want to see it! Take a photo of your poster along with a few staff members so we can share it.

Way to go, Ashley!

A small idea can go a long way, especially when it benefits our patients. Labor and Delivery nurse Ashley Henderson recognized the need for some extra special care for long-term antepartum patients who were spending long weeks or even months in the hospital away from family and friends. In response to this need, Ashley created the Perinatal Mental Health Program which utilizes interdisciplinary care to provide patients with physical, mental and spiritual support while giving them safe activities to do.
